The Central Otago terroir produces Pinot Noir fruit that is intensely coloured and brimming with flavour, this fruit creates stunning wines with black fruit characteristics and richly perfumed aromatics. Nevis Bluff Central Otago Pinot Noir has layers of dark cherry, doris plum, violet and spice on the nose that leads to a warm richly textured mouth feel showing elegance, persistence and depth.

In addition to Natural & Organic, they wanted to make a young, drink NOW style of Shiraz that was different from their existing Shiraz styles. 100% Shiraz. Colour: vibrant purple & pink. Aroma: ironstone, cold smoke & raspberries. Palate: medium-bodied, gravelly tannins offset by a delicate acidity with a smooth finish. Drink 'NOW'.

53.5% Shiraz, 46.5% Mataro. Aged in French oak. Colour: Ruby red. Aroma: Bright red fruits, with raspberry, cherry and cranberry, hints of earthy spice and a delicate floral undertone. Palate: Lively and complex, full-bodied texture balanced by a refreshing acidity and well-integrated tannins provide a smooth and elegant mouthfeel. Cellar: 2 years.

Upon release the wine is bright ruby in colour. There is a teasing array of vibrant red fruit on the nose including raspberry, pomegranate, cherry and plum. Spice and herbal notes, as well as a savoury underlay, add to the wine's complexity. While the palate has generous fruit weight and velvety tannins, it is balanced with refreshing acidity and a structure that gives the wine classic North Canterbury tension and pinosity.

Well-regarded since launch, the Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the typical cellarability that all Penfolds wines are renowned for. The wine has excellent structure and length and while it is ready for drinking now, it will gain further complexity with short term cellaring.
