What’s the difference between Scotch, Bourbon, Irish & more?
Scotch Whisky
From the Highlands with Character
- Made in Scotland
- Primarily malted barley
- Aged minimum 3 years in oak barrels
- Styles: Single Malt, Blended, Peated
- Famous for smoky, earthy flavors (especially Islay)
Bourbon
Bourbon – America’s Sweetheart
- Made in the USA, mostly Kentucky
- At least 51% corn
- Aged in new charred oak barrels
- Sweeter profile with notes of vanilla, caramel, oak
- Must be aged at least 2 years (for straight bourbon)

- Can use a mix of grains (often barley)
