A remarkable ingenuity defines the people of Jura, an ability to reimagine and reinvent that has allowed our Distillery and its working community to thrive. Such vision has brought to life this complex single malt - a fitting tribute to our Master Blender's skill - having been shaped by seven separate Oak woods: first-fill ex-bourbon American White Oak, Vosges, Bertranges, Jupilles, Allier, Troncais & Limousin barrels.
This unique blend contains only the finest single malt and grain Scotch whiskies, long aged in a variety of oak casks for many years before being blended and bottled in Scotland. The result is a whisky of top quality which is renowned throughout the world. Sweet vanilla toffee aromas with a pleasing spicy influence. On the palate it's creamy and warming, fruity with butterscotch. Finishes long and complex.
The whisky has a powerful, peat-smoke aroma, and is described as being robustly full-bodied, well balanced, and smooth, with a slight sweetness on the palate. International Spirit ratings competitions have generally given Lagavulin's 16-year spirit extremely high scores.
The secret to Laphroaig is that it benefits from the happy circumstances of where it is produced - next to ocean water and on land that gives Laphroaig a unique peaty taste. Laphroaig is one of only a few distilleries that still uses traditional malting floors, and dries and infuses its own malt with the thick blue smoke from old peat-fired kilns. Laphroaig is the #1 selling Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky. One of only a few distilleries that still uses traditional malting floors, and dries and infuses its own malt with the thick blue smoke from old peat fired kilns. Characterized by the pungent, earthy aroma of the blue peat smoke; the sweet nuttiness of the barley; and the delicate, heathery perfume of Islay's streams. Laphroaig is the only Single Malt Scotch Whisky to bear a Royal Warrant bestowed by HRH Prince Charles.
The whisky's rich flavours come through as never before because the whisky is non chill-filtered. This gives a depth of genuine taste and texture normally associated with sampling a whisky at source.
Legent is a landscape changing bourbon. It takes what you expect from a Kentucky straight bourbon, expands it and opens it up to a world of new ideas and possibilities.
Kentucky distiller Bill Samuels, Sr., founder of Maker's Mark, set out to make a better tasting bourbon whisky. What he discovered was that if you used winter wheat in the mash instead of the traditional distiller's rye, your bourbon whisky was smoother and less bitter...and that's made all the difference
Oban is one of Scotland's oldest and smallest distilleries. Founded in 1794, the West Highland port town of the same name has grown around the distillery. Oban is the one Single Malt Scotch Whisky in which the rich, complex flavours of the Highlands meet and mingle with the peaty, maritime character of the Islands. Flavours of rich fruits, smoky dryness, honeyed spice, and a whiff of sea salt distinguish this full-bodied 14 Year Old West Highland malt.
Smooth, complex and robust. An Irish whiskey as uncommon as its surroundings and colourful history, each drop presents an opportunity to uncover yet another subtle layer of its full bodied character.
